Fertility Evaluations

The fertility and conception process is an important, and challenging, part of many peoples lives. Dr. Moss has years of experience providing psychological assessments and consultations that are required by fertility clinics as well as supporting couples on their personal journeys towards families.

Gestational Carrier Psychological Screening

This assessment supports the person exploring surrogacy and gestational carrying by assessing mental health, emotional readiness, and psychological suitability. This is often the first step in any surrogacy or gestational carrier’s journey.

Topics of this assessment include:

  • Resilience through a potentially challenging expeirence (emotional stability, motivations, support systems, psychological resources)

  • Expectations for relationship between intended parent(s) and gestational carrier

  • Embryo transfer planning and medical decision making

  • Emotional expectations throughout the process

  • Expectations for communication between intended parents and carrier and between intended parents and their child about conception

  • Legal and ethical considerations (ensuring knowledge of rights)

This assessment includes a clinical interview, several psychological assessments, and psychoeducation about the demands and stresses of participating in this process. The assessment process takes approximately 2-3 hours and takes place via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video portal. A report of test results that you can provide to any fertility clinic you are working with as well as a feedback session with Dr. Moss will be offered at the end of the testing process.


Intended Parent Consultation

This assessment supports intended parents in understanding how they might experience the fertility process. Intended parents will discuss expectations about communication with the gestational carrier, decision-making, and emotional impacts of navigating this journey. This is often required by agencies and clinics.

Topics of assessment:

  • How a parent can discuss conception with their child

  • Resilience through stressors of fertility journey

  • Community support

  • Emotional expectations throughout the process

This assessment includes a clinical interview and psychoeducation about the demands and stresses of participating in this process. This assessment takes approximately 1-2 hours and takes place via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video portal. A report of test results that you can provide to any fertility clinic you re working with as well as a feedback session with Dr. Moss will be offered at the end of the testing process.
